AECI staff has been active in serving the mining industry for over 20 years. From resource evaluations through design and permitting, AECI will take the client’s site from raw land to operating mine. Services provided include test borings and site evaluations, mining and reclamation plans, NYSDOT source reports and environmental impact statements. Sample projects include:

Tetz Summitville

AECI secured NYSDEC and Town special uses approvals for this 9.5 million cubic yard sand and gravel mine. All preliminary studies were completed in advance and NYSDEC issued a Negative Declaration for this project under SEQR. An Environmental Impact Statement was not required. Key studies that lead to this determination included the following:
     1. Cultural Resources
     2. Traffic
     3. Visual Impacts
     4. Stormwater
     5. Site and watershed water balance analysis demonstrating adequate resources to supply the projects onsite           processing plant.

Tetz Mongaup Valley Quarry

AECI was the principal consultant for this 251-acre hard rock quarry. Innovative solutions for stormwater management and process fines de-watering have been incorporated into its design.

Rossi Mine

This 39-acre sand and gravel mine was originally permitted by NYSDEC, but for 15 years was unable to obtain the required local approvals. Legal challenges were unsuccessful and the project languished. AECI came on board in 2002 and was able to secure a “floating” Industrial Zone approval from the Town Board and site plan approval from the Planning Board in late 2004
